michael nowakowski has been painting full time since 1992. He has specialized in wildlife art . His early contact with nature and animals played a major role in his personal development and later interests.

He is a animal and equestrian artist and also make gun engraving and illustrations for magazines.

michael has always been very passionate about realism. With no formal art training, his best learning experience has been by trial and error, followed by many more hours in his studio striving to reproduce that perfection of light, composition, contrast and harmony of colour that he observed whilst in the wild. However, Michael drew a lot of his inspiration from master artists like Sir Alfred Munnings, Ivan Schischkin, Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski whose work is very distinctive. He was always amazed at how they were able to capture the spirit of the animals and wildlife with such unparalleled ease in their artwork. This was something that Michael aspired to achieve in his artwork as well. His paintings and engraving are the result of many hours spent observing, sketching and photographing wildlife and their unique habitats. His work are collected worldwide : United States, Africa, Russia and all Europe.
As a animal artist hi is supporting David Shepherd Wildlife Fundation and Capercaillie Conservation.

Michael has worked as a professional hand engraver and designer for the last 25 years specialising in the fine ''Bulino'' style of engraving and gold inlay, he is currently working for Able Engraving & Design in the UK.
